There are literally hundreds of new photography contests advertised around the world each day. There are contests for every photographic style and skill level, and prizes can include cash, vacations, photographic equipment, exhibitions, and publication.

Contest: City of Manitou Springs 2023 Photo Contest

Description: Celebrate Arts Month this October with Manitou Springs’ 2023 Annual Photo Contest! The City of Manitou Springs is inviting photographers of all levels, from beginners to seasoned pros, to participate. There are no specific themes; whether it’s a vibrant snapshot of Manitou Springs’ bustling downtown on a Saturday or the serene beauty of Fountain Creek on a crisp Fall morning, every photo captures the diverse essence of Manitou Springs. Prizes: First Place: $200 in Manitou Money; Second Place: $150 in Manitou Money; Third Place: $100 in Manitou Money. Note: Manitou Money is a local currency that can be spent at most local businesses. Each participant can submit up to three pictures. The top two winning entries will proudly serve as the City of Manitou Springs’ profile picture and cover photo across all relevant social media platforms. Additionally, the top 10 selected photographs will be announced through a press release and showcased on our social media channels. They will also be featured in promotional materials for the City and may even replace some of the background images on the City’s official website.

Contest: Best in Show

Description: Welcome to the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Best in Show Photo Contest. The best images of Colorado agriculture come from those who work in ag and those who celebrate ag, and that’s where you come in! For more than 20 years, the Department of Agriculture has widely shared images submitted by photographers of all skill levels through our annual photo contest, which then become part of our photo library. All images must have been photographed in Colorado during the 2023 calendar year. All entries must relate to Colorado agriculture in some way. Entries representing all types of agricultural enterprises, scenes and people are encouraged. Monetary prizes will be awarded in the categories as follows: Overall Grand Prize winner ($150) and first place in each category ($50 per winner). Other awards and honorable mentions may be awarded as determined by the contest judges.
